When we think of America’s heroes, we picture those serving on the front lines. But behind every soldier stands another kind of hero — a mother whose strength, sacrifice, and love never waver.

Their service is silent. Their courage unseen. On the one day meant to honor them, Mother’s Day, their story is too often left untold.

IDEA

For Mother’s Day 2019, Crown Royal set out to change that. Together with M.O.M. (Mothers of Military) and Vanguard Industries, makers of our nation’s insignia and The Medal of Honor, we created The Mother’s Medal, the first honor ever made for mothers of military personnel. We invited America to nominate the moms who serve from home. Thousands did. Each name and story became part of a digital Wall of M.O.M.s, a living tribute to their devotion. The movement culminated in a surprise ceremony with Thomas Rhett, where mothers were presented their medals by their sons and daughters in uniform.
